Campaign Story

Hello! We are Jordan and Mackenzie Hill. We have been together for almost 9 years and married for 4 (this August). We have three dogs but want to continue to grow our family. Having a child and being parents has been a dream for us. We have been trying to grow our family for 3 years and so far, no luck. We went and saw a specialist in 2023 and found out I have Diminishing Ovarian Reserve (DOR), I have less eggs than the average 32-year-old woman. Jordan and I decided to take the doctors advice and start IVF. We were eager to start the process, not knowing what to expect. March 2024 was the start of our first round. After 3-4 shots a day for 15 days, it was egg retrieval day, and the doctor retrieved 7 eggs. We were incredibly happy and hopeful of this process. Two embryos grew to the proper stage. It was time for a transfer 5 days later. After waiting for 2 weeks, we found out that the embryo did not stick. We were devastated. We knew we had one more embryo try. We waited until July and transferred that embryo. Again, 2 weeks later, I was not pregnant. Through another heartbreak, we decided to continue our mission. Another egg retrieval was on the books for September and again, 7 eggs! Great news, all to find out none of the embryos were viable to transfer. I decided to go into a back-to-back egg retrieval, I had about a 3 week break and our 3rd egg retrieval came back with 2 eggs and neither made it to the embryo stage.

After 3 rounds and over 100 shots, we decided to take a break. I wanted to give my mind and body a break. When going through this process you think your chances are great! That was shot down 3 different times, and this takes a toll not only myself but also my husband and our relationship. Jordan has been extremely supportive and uplifting through his process, but it is still difficult. Our marriage has grown stronger, and we will continue muster through this fight.

With the physical and mental toll, it takes on you, it also takes a financial toll. Jordan and I have never asked for help. We come from strong-willed and stubborn backgrounds! We always find a way to manage. We are now asking for help in hopes that we can continue our journey to add a baby to our already amazing family. We have kept our journey close to our hearts, but the burden becomes larger with every round we go through. Infertility has been the most difficult and isolating journey, but we hope to graduate from this journey soon!

Donating to our fundraiser will help without the next round of IVF, which will begin shortly. We are grateful for any and all contributions. Thank you for listening to our story and your consideration to donate.
